The inhabitants are called Martiniens .

Saint-Martin-du-Clocher is located about 40 kilometers north of Angoulême and is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Londigny in the north, Montalembert in the northeast, Les Adjots in the east and northeast, Bernac in the south and east, La Chèvrerie in the south, Villiers-le- Roux in the southwest and Montjean in the west and northwest.
