Saint-Gourson is a French municipality with 140 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the Arrondissement Confolens and the canton Charente-Nord (until 2015 Ruffec ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Goursonnais .

Saint-Gourson is located about 32 kilometers north-northeast of Angoulême . Saint-Gourson is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Nanteuil-en-Vallée in the north, Chassiecq in the east, Saint-Sulpice-de-Ruffec in the south, Couture in the south and south-west and Poursac in the west and north-west.
