La Magdeleine is a French municipality with 114 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the Arrondissement of Confolens and the canton of Charente-Nord (until 2015 Villefagnan ). The inhabitants are called Magdéléniens .

La Magdeleine is about 40 kilometers north-northwest of Angoulême and is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Forêt-de-Tessé in the north, Montjean in the northeast, Villiers-le-Roux in the east, Villefagnan in the south and southeast, Empuré in the south and southwest, Paizay- Naudouin-Embourie in the southwest and Theil-Rabier in the west.
