Saulgond is a French municipality with 522 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the Arrondissement Confolens and the canton Charente-Vienne (until 2015 Chabanais ).
geography
Saulgond is located about 55 kilometers northeast of Angoulême and is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lesterps in the north, Saint-Christophe in the northeast, Brigueuil in the east, Saint-Junien in the southeast, Étagnac in the south, Chabrac in the southwest and Saint-Maurice-des-Lions in the West and northwest. The municipality is crossed by the Goire River , a tributary of the Vienne .
