Hiesse is a French municipality with 243 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the Arrondissement of Confolens and the canton of Charente-Vienne (until 2015 Confolens-Nord ). The inhabitants are called Hiessois .
geography
Hiesse is located about 55 kilometers north-northeast of Angoulême and is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pressac in the north, Lessac in the east, Confolens in the southeast, Ansac-sur-Vienne in the south and southeast, Alloue in the south and west and Épenède in the west and northwest.
