Verneuil ( Occitan : Vernuelh ) is a French commune with a population of 98 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the Arrondissement Confolens and the canton Charente-Bonnieure (until 2015: canton Montembœuf ).
geography
Verneuil is located about 44 kilometers east-northeast of Angoulême . In the north is the Lac de Lavaud , a reservoir of the Charente . Verneuil is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pressignac in the north and northeast, Videix in the east, Les Salles-Lavauguyon in the south and Massignac in the west.
