Villognon is a French commune of 321 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Confolens and the canton of Boixe-et-Manslois (until 2015 Mansle ).

Villognon is located about 22 kilometers north-northeast of Angoulême on the Charente . Villognon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Luxé in the north, Cellettes in the east and northeast, Vervant in the southeast, Xambes in the south, Coulonges in the south and southwest, Ambérac in the west and southwest and Fouqueure in the west and northwest.
