The inhabitants are called Chévriens .

La Chèvrerie is located about 39 kilometers north-northwest of Angoulême and is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Martin-du-Clocher in the north, Bernac in the east, la Faye in the south and south-east, Villefagnan in the south and south-west and Villiers-le-Roux in the west.
