Fouqueure is a French municipality with 402 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the Arrondissement of Confolens and the canton of Charente-Nord ( Aigre until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Fouqueurois .

geography

Fouqueure is located about 30 kilometers north-northwest of Angoulême on the Charente and is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Tusson in the north, Ligné in the northeast, Luxé in the east, Ébréon in the east, Villognon in the south and southeast, Ambérac in the south and southwest, Marcillac-Lanville in the west and south-west and Aigre (with Villejésus ) in the north-west.
