The canton of Aigre was a French canton in the Charente department and in what was then the Poitou-Charentes region until 2015 . It comprised 15 parishes in the Arrondissement Confolens ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Aigre . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015. For the years 1998–2015, Frank Bonnet was the last representative in the conseil général des Départements.
