The canton of Cognac-Nord was a French canton in the Charente department and in what was then the Poitou-Charentes region until 2015 . It comprised seven parishes in the arrondissement of Cognac ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was cognac . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015. The last representative in the conseil général des Départements was Robert Richard for the years 2004–2015.
