The canton Angoulême-Est was 2015 a French canton in the department of Charente and in the former region Poitou-Charentes . It covered part of the city of Angoulême in the Angoulême arrondissement . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015. Janine Guinandie was the last representative in the Conseil Régional for the years 1998–2015.

The canton was in the center of the Charente department. In the west it bordered the canton Angoulême-Ouest , in the north on the canton Angoulême-Nord , in the east on the canton Soyaux and in the south on the canton La Couronne .

Communities

The canton consisted of a few quarters to the east of the city of Angoulême.
