The canton of Jarnac is a French canton in the department of Charente and in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It comprises 17 municipalities in the Arrondissement of Cognac and has its bureau centralisateur in Jarnac . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons, it was expanded slightly in spring 2015.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Jarnac included the 14 municipalities of Bassac , Chassors , Fleurac , Foussignac , Houlette , Jarnac , Julienne , Les Métairies , Mérignac , Nercillac , Réparsac , Sainte-Sévère , Sigogne and Triac-Lautrait . Its layout corresponded to an area of 161.55 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 1617.
