Georg Böhm (politician, 1923)

Georg Böhm (born March 26, 1923 in Willomitz , Czechoslovakia ) is a former German functionary of the GDR block party DBD . He was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR.

Life

Böhm, son of a doctor, attended elementary school in Bensen and secondary school in Tetschen . Between 1940 and 1942 he completed an agricultural apprenticeship and was then a young farmer in Bensen. On September 1, 1942, he joined the NSDAP . During the Second World War he was drafted into the Wehrmacht and was taken prisoner by the Soviets , where he attended an anti-fascist school.

In 1949 he returned to Germany and joined the DBD in 1950. Until 1951 he was a district instructor, state youth officer and member of the state board of Mecklenburg of the DBD. From 1951 to 1954 he headed the party school of the DBD in Bad Kleinen . Between 1951 and 1955 he completed a distance learning course at the German Administrative Academy and the German Academy for Political Science and Law , which he graduated with a degree in economics.

From 1955 to 1960 he was a member of the executive committee and head of the main training and education department of the DBD. From 1958 to 1963 he was a member of the People's Chamber . From 1962 he held various functions in the district boards of Neubrandenburg, Magdeburg and Halle of the DBD: in 1962 he was secretary of the district board of Neubrandenburg of the DBD, then from 1962 deputy chairman and from 1963 to 1967 chairman of the district board of Neubrandenburg of the DBD. He then worked as secretary and from 1970 as deputy chairman of the Magdeburg district committee of the DBD. From 1971 to October 15, 1976 he was chairman of the Halle district board of the DBD. Böhm, who was a member of the Halle District Assembly from 1971 to 1976 , was withdrawn from the unified list on October 12, 1976 as a candidate for the district assembly election on October 17, 1976, and was replaced by his successor in the DBD DBD district chairman, Günther Maleuda , replaced.

From 1972 Böhm was again a member of the presidium of the party executive committee of the DBD, from 1976 secretary of the party executive committee of the DBD. From 1982 Böhm was also Vice President of the Peace Council of the GDR .

After the turn , Böhm was at the special party conference of the DBD on 27./28. January 1990 in Berlin no longer elected to the party executive. In January 1990, together with Werner Fischer and Gottfried Forck, he was commissioned by the Central Round Table to oversee the dissolution of the Ministry for State Security (MfS), until April 1990 he was government plenipotentiary, from June to October 1990 deputy secretary of the government commission for the dissolution of the MfS . In October 1990 Böhm retired. Böhm did not merge with the CDU and was independent from October 1990.
