Georg Bruehl
Georg Alex Brühl (born February 22, 1931 in Breslau ; † February 21, 2009 ) was a German museologist , art historian , publicist and art collector. He put on diverse art collections ( fine arts , handicrafts , Asian art ).
Life
Georg Brühl had a decisive influence on the artistic-cultural life in Karl-Marx-Stadt before the fall of the Wall : From 1972 to 1978 he was secretary of the producer gallery Galerie Oben , worked with the Schauspielhaus Chemnitz ( My Blue Piano [ Dadaist texts], foyer exhibitions ). He wrote works on the art of Impressionism and Expressionism and taught at the local community college . In 1990 he founded a board of trustees for the preservation of Villa Esche , an Art Nouveau property built by Henry van de Velde for the stocking manufacturer Esche . After the political change , his years of work for the Ministry for State Security of the GDR became known as IM "Peter".
In recent years Georg Brühl has organized international exhibitions in Amsterdam, Innsbruck and Bregenz. A support association for the Brühl Collection has existed since 2000. He last lived at Lichtenwalde Castle near Chemnitz.

- Donated in 2005 to the Free State of Saxony
- Lichtenwalde Castle (East Asia - several thousand exhibits: furniture, plastic, painting, ceramics, metalwork, graphics from China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam)
