Georg Müller

Georg Emanuel Christian Theodor Müller (born July 18, 1766 in Löhnberg , † December 10, 1836 in Wiesbaden ) was a Nassau regional bishop and politician.

Georg Müller was born as the son of the bailiff and office cellar Friedrich Ludwig Michael Müller (born March 26, 1735 in Weilburg ) and his wife Maria Regina, born Philippi (born March 14, 1740 in Hamm (Sieg) ) who he was born on October 17, 1765 in Gemünden married, born. From 1780 to 1783 Georg Müller attended the Philippinum Weilburg grammar school . Then he studied from 1783 to 1785 at the University of Giessen and from 1785 to 1786 at the University of Jena theology and laid in 1787 the exam from. After graduating from 1787 to 1789 he worked as a vicar in Niedercleen . Afterwards he worked at the grammar school Philippinum Weilburg: 1789 to 1791 as a collaborator , from 1791 as vice rector and from 1785 as prorector .

In 1800 he was appointed the first pastor in Weilburg and superintendent of the Protestant churches and schools in Nassau-Weilburg . From 1805 he was also Ephorus taking over the county of Hachenburg . From 1806 to 1810 he is a scholar at the Weilburg grammar school.

In 1810 he was appointed the first pastor in Wiesbaden and general superintendent of the Evangelical Church in the Duchy of Nassau. From 1816 he is a corresponding member of the state government for spiritual affairs and from 1827 he worked for the Evangelical Regional Church in Nassau, which was formed in 1817, as a regional bishop based in Wiesbaden. From 1818 to 1836 he was a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Nassau Landtag and there in 1832 interim president of the Chamber of Deputies. His nephew Friedrich Müller was also a member of the Nassau state parliament.

In 1817 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Marburg as Dr. hc honored.
