Georg Martin Lange

Georg Martin Lange (born October 28, 1937 in Danzig ; † April 6, 2020 ) was a German television director , copywriter and book author.

biography

Georg Martin Lange completed his commercial apprenticeship from 1960 to 1962 at the Düsseldorf drama school . Originally he wanted to become a theater director, in 1963 he was given the opportunity to assist Fred Kraus and Günther Hassert at the Westdeutscher Rundfunk in Cologne . In 1965 Ekkehard Böhmer brought him to the Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt for the show EWG and Zum Blauen Bock , which he later took over himself. In the following years he took over all directing duties in the entertainment of the third television program of the Hessischer Rundfunk .

Ekkehard Böhmer then brought him as an assistant to the newly founded ZDF . Soon afterwards he was entrusted with independent directing work. In addition to the shows Dalli Dalli with Hans Rosenthal and “The music comes” with Maria Hellwig , his name is mainly associated with the series Der Große Preis with Wim Thoelke , which he directed uninterruptedly for 18 years until Wim Thoelke left.

Georg Martin Lange also wrote texts for interpreters of the popular music scene, such as the “Roses of the Madonna” with Bianca and the “Bells of Stella Maria” with Edith Prock as the soloist. As an author, he presented an “Almanac of the South Tyrolean Musicians” and a book with “South Tyrolean crime stories to make you smile”. For the city of Bodenwerder he wrote the open-air play "Baron von Münchhausen", which was performed there in summer for almost 10 years. On March 3, 2011, a German-language mass based on his texts was premiered in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. Most recently, Lange worked as a producer and director for the broadcaster Bible TV , Hamburg.

Lange died on April 6, 2020.
