Georg Nigl

Georg Nigl (* 1972 ) is an Austrian opera and concert singer ( baritone ) and singing teacher. From 2014 to 2017 he was professor for singing at the State University for Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart . In 2015 Opernwelt magazine's critics' poll voted him “Singer of the Year”.

Life

Georg Nigl performed as a soprano soloist with the Vienna Boys' Choir as a child . He studied singing at the Vienna University of Music with Margaretha Sparber and Rolf Sartorius, as well as song design with David Lutz at the Vienna Conservatory. He finished his training as a baritone with chamber singer Hilde Zadek .
