Georg Richard Schultze

Georg Richard Otto Schultze (born September 25, 1903 in Neu Lietzegöricke , Königsberg district , Neumark , † June 18, 1970 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German chemist and university professor .

Life

In 1927 Schultze became an assistant at the chair for physical chemistry at the Technical University of Danzig . In 1928 he was in Berlin to Dr. phil. PhD . In 1929 he became a research associate and faculty member at the University of Minnesota .

In 1931 Schultze research chemist at was Socony-Vacuum Oil in Paulsboro ( New Jersey ). In 1934 he returned to Germany, became an assistant at the chair for physical chemistry at the Humboldt University in Berlin , where he was given a teaching position for chemistry and technology of mineral oil . In the following year he completed his habilitation and in 1936 received a teaching position for fuel technology.

In 1940 Schultze switched to the chair for chemical technology at the Technical University of Braunschweig , where he was appointed professor in 1942. In 1943 he received a teaching position for carbon oxide and high pressure hydrogenation at the Technical University of Hanover . There he finally became full professor for petrochemistry and director of the Institute for Petroleum Research on January 1, 1945 . Since 1943 he was a member of the Braunschweig Scientific Society . In 1951 the "German Rheological Society" was founded in Berlin, and Schultze was elected to its advisory board.

He was a member of the Ascania Halle choir , the AMV Cheruscia Hannover and the ALT Berlin .

Awards

In 1931 he became an honorary member of the American Scientific Society Sigma Xi in Minnesota . In 1939 he received the gold medal at the "International Water Exhibition" in Liège ( Belgium ).
