George Carl Gotthilf von Schütz , until 1790 George Carl Gotthilf Schütz , (born September 24, 1758 in Pasewalk , † May 30, 1805 in Berlin ) was a Prussian chamber clerk.

Life

His father Johann Wilhelm Schütz was the mayor and city judge of Pasewalk.

Schütz attended the grammar school in Stettin from 1774 to 1776 after he had already received his first lessons at the Pasewalk city school . Since 1776/1777 Schütz studied law at the University of Halle . Here he especially heard lectures by Professors Holzhauer , Zepernick , Heisler , Woltaer and Nettelbladt .

In 1780 Schütz became a trainee lawyer at the Pomeranian War and Domain Chamber and in 1782 advanced to the position of expeditionary secretary at the Pomeranian Improvement Commission . In 1785 he was appointed War and Domain Council in Küstrin . He was transferred to the Chamber of Accounts in 1788 and was director of the field commissariat of the Rhine Army from around 1792. In 1795 he was promoted to finance council. In the absence of a vacancy, he first became chief accountant at the general directorate and in 1798 moved to the VI as a regular finance councilor. Department. As early as 1800 he was a lecturer and was judged outstandingly in 1801. Since 1802 he was delayed with the tasks assigned to him due to health problems.

The Schütz Secret Finance Council was passed in 1803, initially without a pension, but then with 400 thalers a year, because of its work backlog.

As early as 1790, Schütz was raised to the nobility as von Schütze, together with his brother, the secret finance councilor Johann Friedrich (1740–1798) .

From his marriage to the surviving Katharina Philippine Johanna, née von Woedtke , his daughter Wilhelmine Auguste (1790–1862) emerged. She was married to Major General Wilhelm von Schack (1786–1831) since 1810 .

The place Schützensorge was named after Schütz in the course of the cultivation and colonization of the Warthebruch .
