Georgi Donchev

Georgi Dontschew ( Bulgarian Георги Дончев , English transcription George Donchev , born August 18, 1967 ) is a Bulgarian jazz musician ( double bass , also vocals ).

Live and act

Donchev attended the Pancho Vladigerov National Music Academy from 1989 to 1992 ; between 1993 and 1995 he studied at Berklee College of Music and from 2002 to 2005 at Dominica Jungle School of Music. In 1990 the first recordings were made with the vocalist Yildiz Ibrahimova ( Illusory Eternity ). Since then he has played a. a. with Hal Crook , George Garzone , Bob Moses , David Berkman , Nigel Kennedy , Joe Maneri , Jacques Schwarz-Bart , John Lockwood , Eddie Kirkland , Cuong Vu , Danilo Perez , Tommy Smith , Tony Malaby , George Schuller , Ian Froman , Stéphane Belmondo , Jeff Williams , Milcho Leviev , Baby Sommer , Franz Koglmann , Anatoly Vapirov and Anthony Wonsey . In the field of jazz he was involved in five recording sessions between 1990 and 1990. He has been working in Berlin since the 2010s; He is currently a member of the For Free Hands quartet with Vladimir Karparov, Dimitris Christides and Andreas Brunn. His brother is the jazz pianist Antoni Donchev.
