George Leo Thomas (born May 19, 1950 in Anaconda , Montana , USA ) is an American clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Las Vegas .

Life

George Leo Thomas received on 22 May 1976 by the Archbishop of Seattle , Raymond Gerhardt Hunthausen , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On 19 November 1999 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Vagrauta and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Seattle. The Archbishop of Seattle, Alexander Joseph Brunett , donated him episcopal ordination on January 28, 2000 ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Spokane , William Stephen Skylstad , and the Bishop of Yakima , Carlos Arthur Sevilla SJ . On March 23, 2004, John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Helena . The inauguration took place on June 4th of the same year.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Las Vegas on February 28, 2018. The inauguration took place on May 15 of the same year.
