Gerald Jung

Gerald Jung (* 1956 in Kaiserslautern ) is a German translator and journalist .

biography

Jung completed his studies in English , American and German in Heidelberg and Berlin .

He works as a journalist in the fields of film , music and literature . He also works as a translator and translates English fiction , children's and young people's books , with a focus on science fiction and fantasy, as well as screenplays and non-fiction . He often works with Katharina Orgaß on this.

  • 2002: Scholarship from the Berlin Translators' Workshop. at the Literary Colloquium Berlin .
  • 2006: Awarded the Kurd-Laßwitz Prize for the best translation for the transmission of John Barnes' The Sky so Big and Black
