Gerard Koel
Gerard Hendrik Koel (born January 16, 1941 in Amsterdam ) is a former Dutch cyclist .
In 1964 Gerard Koel won the bronze medal in the team pursuit at the Olympic Games in Tokyo , together with Jaap Oudkerk , Henk Cornelisse and Cor Schuuring . He was twice Dutch champion in sprint and 1970 national champion in scratch over 50 kilometers. Koel also started in 47 six-day races, of which he won two: 1967 in Madrid with Jan Janssen and 1973 in Antwerp with René Pijnen and Leo Duyndam .
After finishing his cycling career, Gerard Koel u. a. as a driver for the broadcasting station Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS) during the Tour de France .
