Gerhard Voss (pastor)

Gerhard Voss (born March 1, 1934 in Neubrandenburg ) is a German Evangelical Lutheran theologian and pastor , most recently at the Goldberg town church , who lives in Güstrow in retirement and has distinguished himself as a preacher in Low German and an author on Jewish cemeteries in Mecklenburg .

life and work

Voss passed his first theological exam in Rostock in 1958 and was ordained pastor as vicar in 1959. He celebrated his 60th ordination anniversary in Güstrow in 2019.

From 1960 to 1970 he was pastor in Schwichtenberg and from 1970 to 1999 pastor at the town church in Goldberg.

He is a member of the working group "Plattdüütsch in de Kirch - Meckelborger Arbeitskrink" and of the Art and Antiquities Association Güstrow eV

As an author he dealt with a. with Jewish cemeteries in Mecklenburg. Like his brother in Schwerin and namesake Gerhard Voss (theologian), he published in the magazine Mecklenburgia sacra .

In December 1987, after the fall of the Wall , he founded the round table of the city of Goldberg and worked with his official brother Egon Wulf ( Woosten ) at the district level, who headed the round table there.

In addition to his deceased official brother and namesake in Schwerin Gerhard Voss (theologian), there is obviously another namesake in Esslingen , the retired evangelical pastor and senior teacher , Gerhard Voss (teacher) , who works with the association "Denk -zeichen" for the preservation of the Jewish cemetery in Esslingen begins.
