They both love each other and spend a lot of time together, but both are bossy and self-centered. The enthusiastic racing driver Vittorio and the Countess suffer more and more from quarrels and misunderstandings. They separate peacefully, but are both convinced that they cannot live without each other.

Diana wants to win Vittorio back for herself. That's why she invites him to a party organized by her. Here Vittorio meets young Adriana, who falls in love with him. Vittorio cannot choose between the two. Both Adriana and Diana are getting more and more jealous. In order to calm down, Vittorio Adriana proposes, which she refuses. Vittorio realizes that his true love is for the Countess. But Diana wants revenge on Adriana and Vittorio, because she thinks they have betrayed her. Diana breaks a vase in anger that was important to the superstitious Vittorio.

Vittorio takes part in a car race with his friend and colleague Bonelli. He learns that Adriana Bonelli has married. Unhappy, Vittorio takes off his lucky bracelet. He dies in the race. Diana has a premonition of the misfortune and learns of his death. Now she suffers from a broken heart and feels old.

Reviews

The lexicon of the international film describes the work as "a confused melodrama, stylized up to meaning through solemn gestures and screwed-dark words."

The Italian film portal ComingSoon wrote that the mere mention of the name Lewis Milestone was not enough to cover up the many shortcomings of the film. The story is too unoriginal.
