The Gigalitz is a 3001 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Floitenkamm of the Zillertal Alps between Floitengrund and Stillupgrund . It is considered the local mountain of the Greizer Hut .
Approach
From the Greizer Hütte you follow the path up to the Lapenscharte (transition to the Kasseler Hütte ) to a marked junction at an altitude of approx. 2,500 m. Marked tracks take you on the less pronounced southwest ridge and then on grassy crags to the two peaks. There is a metal directional circle on the north summit. Walking time from the Greizer Hut: approx. 2.5 hours (775 meters in altitude).
Summit cross
In July 2006 a summit cross was donated and set up by the "FND" round table (Friday after duty).
Climbing tour
The neighboring Gigalitzturm (2,978 m) offers one of several climbing tours with 7 pitches and a level of difficulty of 4 + / 5-. The entrance to this is directly at the Lapenscharte.
