Gilbert J. Bouley (born November 15, 1921 in Plainfield , Connecticut - † February 8, 2006 in Weymouth , Massachusetts ) was an American American football player . He played as an offensive tackle and defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) with the Cleveland / Los Angeles Rams .

Player career

College career

Gil Bouley visited in Norwich , the High School and studied after his graduation from 1941 to 1943 at Boston College and played football at the football team, the "Boston College Eagles" . In 1941 and 1942, he was voted All-American for his athletic achievements . In 1943 he acted as team captain . Immediately after graduation, he served as a lieutenant in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II .

Professional career

In 1944, Bouley was from the Cleveland Rams in the third round in 26th place drafted . Due to his military service, he was only able to start running for the Rams from 1945, who paid him an annual salary of 6,000 US dollars . Bouley played as a tackle in both defense and offense of the team. As a player on the offensive line , he had, among other things, the task of protecting his own quarterback Bob Waterfield . In his rookie year , he won the NFL championship with the Rams . After nine wins in ten games in the regular season , he and his team moved into the NFL final.
