history

At the end of 2009, a 15-year-old girl was murdered by the former Chefe de Aldeia of Atos. Their father had defeated the FRETILIN supporter in the local elections in October . The murderer and a helper could be arrested. Despite this, it was reported that girls were victims of a gang who disguised themselves as ninjas and allegedly terrorized people in the area. The government therefore ordered a large-scale police operation to hunt down the ninjas. Some observers criticize the government for using the rumors to intimidate the population; the police allegedly acted with unreasonable brutality.

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Americo Pereira was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections won Afonso Pereira .
