Giovanni Domenico De Cupis (* 1493 in Rome ; † December 10, 1553 there ) was a cardinal of the Catholic Church.

Life

After Pope Leo X had elevated him to cardinal on July 1, 1517, he made him cardinal priest of the titular church of San Giovanni a Porta Latina on July 6, 1517 . From July 30, 1517 Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Trani (until July 3, 1551), he moved on August 17, 1524 as a cardinal to the titular church of Sant'Apollinare alle Terme Neroniane-Alessandrine . For this purpose he received the titular church of San Giovanni a Porta Latina on August 17, 1524 as a commendatory . He gave up both when he became cardinal priest of the titular church of San Lorenzo in Lucina on May 24, 1529 . Since 1528 Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Macerata (until January 29, 1535), he was also Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Adria on August 31, 1531 . After he became Cardinal Bishop of Albano on September 22, 1531 , he also kept the titular church of San Lorenzo in Lucina as a date of coming , which he held until his death. On January 15, 1532 he was also appointed Bishop of Nardò (until May 22, 1536), and on November 13, 1532 he was also Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Irsina (until April 11, 1537). As cardinal bishop he moved to the suburbicarian diocese of Sabina on December 16, 1532 and became apostolic administrator of the archdiocese of Camerino on February 26, 1535 (until March 5, 1537). On February 26, 1535 transferred to the Cardinal Diocese of Porto-Santa Rufina, he was also Vice Dean of the College of Cardinals . With his transfer as Cardinal Bishop to Ostia on November 28, 1537, he was then Dean of the College of Cardinals . From 1549 he was also archpriest of the Basilica of S. Maria Maggiore .
