Giovanni Minozzi ( bl. 1920s and 1930s ) was an Italian racing driver .

Career

Minozzi was the nephew of the successful Grand Prix driver Antonio Ascari and cousin of the Formula 1 world champion Alberto Ascari .

Giovanni Minozzi started an Alfa Romeo RLS at the Premio Reale di Roma, which was held for the first time in 1925 . At the Italian Grand Prix of the same year at the Autodromo di Milano in Monza , he and Giuseppe Campari finished second behind Gastone Brilli-Peri in an Alfa Romeo P2 . After that, he mainly competed in sports car races such as the Mille Miglia .

In the Grand Prix Championship 1930s Minozzi was primarily as a co-pilot, private drivers and example for the Scuderia Siena by Eugenio Siena on Alfa Romeo , Bugatti and Maserati active. When Gran Premio di Monza in 1930 , he was on his privately entered Bugatti Type 35 C fourth behind the Maserati armada to Achille Varzi , Luigi Arcangeli and Ernesto Maserati .

In 1931 , Minozzi finished third as co-driver of Ferdinando Minoia at the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa-Francorchamps and eleventh as co-driver of Tazio Nuvolari at the ACF Grand Prix in Montlhéry .

Giovanni Minozzi was active until the Second World War and was able to achieve some respectable successes on his privately used vehicles. 1940 he joined the war due time last Mille Miglia on one of Alberto Massimino constructed and Enzo Ferrari built 815 Spider Touring Auto Avio Costruzioni as passenger Cousin Alberto Ascari.
