The Glaser Grat ( Rhaeto-Romanic claus ' enclosure ' , Latin clausum 'included' ) is a summit east of Safien and west of Thusis in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland with a height of 2124  m above sea level. M. It belongs to the Heinzenberggrat . From the Heinzenberg side it is inconspicuous as a grass hill, from the Safiental side it is rocky and steeper. Due to its proximity to the Tschappina Heinzenberg ski area , the Glaser Grat is a popular, easy-to-reach ski touring mountain.

Location and surroundings

The Glaser Grat belongs to the Heinzenberggrat, a subgroup of the Adula Alps . It is located entirely in the municipality of Tschappina . The Glaser Grat is bordered in the east by the Heinzenberg and in the west by the Safiental .

The neighboring peaks include the Lüschgrat , Piz Beverin , Verdushorn , Carnusahorn , Bruschghorn and Piz Radun .

Valley locations are Safien, the Glaspass and Tschappina. Frequent starting points are Ober Gmeind and Lüsch.

The Heinzenberger ridge hike is a scenic and varied day hike over the Heinzenberger ridge. It leads from Glaspass via Bischolpass , Tguma and Präzer Höhi to Präz and offers a great panoramic view of the Safiental, Domleschg , Albula and the surrounding mountains.

  • Via: P. 1864 and then over the Bruchalp to the south ridge or via P. 1989 to the north ridge
  • Difficulty: T2 , as trail white-red-white highlighted
  • Time required: 2 hours from Obertschappina or 1¼ hours from Ober Gmeind
