Günter Gloser
Günter Gloser (born January 27, 1950 in Nuremberg ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 1994 to 2013 he was a member of the German Bundestag and from 2005 to 2009 Minister of State for Europe in the Foreign Office .
Life and work
After graduating from the Leibniz-Gymnasium in Altdorf near Nuremberg in 1970 , Gloser did his military service and then, from 1972, studied law at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg , which he did in 1979 with the first and 1981 with the second Finished state examination . In the same year Gloser was admitted to the bar, but joined the Federal Employment Agency as early as 1982 , where he last worked as head of department in Nuremberg.
Günter Gloser is married and has two sons.
Political party
As a schoolboy, Gloser became a member of the SPD in 1969. He named Willy Brandt's peace policy and his will "not only to watch and criticize, but to help shape" as the trigger for his political commitment . From 1997 to 2004 he was chairman of the SPD sub-district of Nuremberg.
MP
From 1994 to 2013 he was a member of the German Bundestag . From 2000 to 2005 he was European policy spokesman and from 2002 to 2005 he was also a member of the executive committee of the SPD parliamentary group .
Günter Gloser entered the Bundestag in 1998 as a directly elected member of the constituency of Nuremberg North and otherwise always via the Bavarian state list.

Gloser is a member of the European Union parliamentary group of the German Bundestag .
Public offices
On November 24, 2005, he was appointed Minister of State in the Foreign Office with responsibility for Europe in the Federal Government led by Chancellor Angela Merkel ( Merkel I cabinet ). In this function he was also the Federal Government Commissioner for Franco-German cooperation . After the federal election in 2009 and the subsequent change in government, Gloser left office in October 2009.
Honorary positions
Günter Gloser is a member of the Presidium of the Europa-Union Deutschland and its parliamentary group in the German Bundestag, as well as a board member of the DAFG - German-Arab Friendship Society . On October 21, 2012 he was newly elected to the Evangelical Church Council Nuremberg - St. Sebald . The term of office lasts six years.
