The Gmina Brześć Kujawski is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Włocławski of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name with about 4700 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality borders in the east on the district town Włocławek and its rural municipality .
history
As part of the second partition of Poland in 1793, the municipality came to Prussia . In 1919 it became part of the reborn Poland . During the occupation (1939-1945) of the Second World War , the places were given German names. Before the end of the war, the area came back to Poland.
The community has existed since 1973. From 1919 to 1921, the rural communities Gmina Falborz and Gmina Wieniec (1919–1921: Gmina Pikutkowo) existed in what is now the municipality next to the city. From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the Włocławek Voivodeship .
