The Gmina Chodecz is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Włocławski of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city ​​of the same name with around 1900 inhabitants.

geography

The municipality is located in the south of the powiat and borders the Greater Poland and Łódź Voivodeships . Włocławek is about 25 kilometers north, Łódź 75 kilometers south.

history

As part of the second partition of Poland in 1793, the municipality came to Prussia . In 1919 it became part of the reborn Poland . During the occupation (1939–1945) of the Second World War , the places were given German names and the city was renamed Godetz . Before the end of the war, the area came back to Poland.

The community has existed since 1973 and 1870. From 1954 to 1972 there were a few gromadas in what is now the municipality next to the city . From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the Włocławek Voivodeship .

economy

Agricultural areas make up 82 percent of the municipal area, ten percent are used for forestry. One of the larger agricultural companies is Ośrodek Hodowli Zwierząt Zarodowych , which mainly breeds farm animals such as pigs and cows.

traffic

The voivodeship road DW269 leads through the municipality and its main town to the northeast to European route 75 in Kowal and to the southwest to DW270 near Izbica Kujawska .

It is about 75 kilometers south to drive to Łódź International Airport .
