The Gmina Koprzywnica ( ) is a town-and-country municipality in the powiat Sandomierski of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name with about 2500 inhabitants.

The municipality borders the Vistula in the east . Its main town is on the Koprzywianka river , which flows into the Vistula beyond the municipal boundary .
history
From 1975 to 1998 the rural community was part of the Tarnobrzeg Voivodeship . In 2001 Koprzywnica received city rights and the municipality its current status.
structure
The urban and rural community (gmina miejsko-wiejska) Koprzywnica has an area of 69.2 km² on which about 6800 people live. In addition to the city itself, the following 15 villages with school boards (sołectwa) belong to the municipality:
Beszyce, Błonie, Ciszyca, Dmosice, Gnieszowice, Kamieniec, Krzcin, Łukowiec, Niedźwice, Postronna , Sośniczany, Świężyce, Trzykosy, Zbigniewice and Zbigniewice-Kolonia.
traffic
The national road DK79 runs through the main town of Koprzywnicas . It leads from Kraków, 130 kilometers southwest, via Połaniec and Osiek to Koprzywnica and in a northerly direction via Sandomierz to Warsaw, 180 kilometers away.
The municipality has no connection to the rail network.
The nearest international airport is Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport, about 60 kilometers south-east .
