The Gmina Nisko is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Nisko in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship in Poland . The seat of the municipality and the powiat is the city of the same name with around 15,300 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located in the Sandomir Depression , 80 km southwest of Lublin and 50 km north of Rzeszów . It borders the cities of Rudnik nad Sanem , Stalowa Wola , Ulanów and the municipalities of Bojanów , Jeżowe and Pysznica . The waters include the San River .
The municipality of Nisko has an area of 142.4 km², 38 percent is used for agriculture and 52 percent for forestry.
history
From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the Tarnobrzeg Voivodeship , and since 1999 Nisko has been a district town again.

For urban and rural-community (gmina miejsko-wiejska) Nisko include the eponymous town and Schulz Offices (sołectwa) Kończyce, Nowa Wieś Nowosielec, Racławice, Wolina and Zarzecze.
education
The municipality has a grammar school (Liceum Ogólnokształcące), three middle schools (gimnazjum), nine elementary schools (szkoła podstawowa), two kindergartens (przedszkole) and a day nursery, as well as two libraries.
