Godawari ( Nepali गोदावरी ) is a city ( municipality ) in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal and belongs to the Kathmandu metropolitan area .
The city is located in Lalitpur District in Province No. 3 . It was created at the end of 2014 through the merger of the Village Development Committees (VDCs) Badikhel , Bisankhunarayan , Godamchaur , Godawari and Thaiba . The urban area covers 35.1 km².
Residents
At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Godawari had 28,793 inhabitants (14,168 male) in 6,739 households.
