Hildesheim Office

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hildesheim office was a historical administrative area of the Kingdom of Hanover and the Prussian Province of Hanover .

history

The term Amt Hildesheim was first used in 1815 for the area of the former Dompropstei , an area similar to an office that was directly subordinate to the cathedral chapter. In 1844 it was incorporated into the tax forest-Marienburg office and the name of Hildesheim office was added to the enlarged administrative district. With the administrative reform of 1852 it was split up again. Since then, the Hildesheim office has only included the north-western part of the previous district with parts of the old tax forest office including the domain of the same name and the former Dompropstei (without Itzum ). In 1859 the previous office of Ruthe was dissolved and the office of Hildesheim was added, which thus reached its final size. Since 1867, the offices of Hildesheim and Peine as well as the cities of Hildesheim and Peine, which are free of charge, have formed the (tax) district of Hildesheim. In 1885 the office was transferred to the district constitution.
