geography

Adlum is located in the middle of the Hildesheimer Börde near the Bruchgraben .

history

The history of the village goes back to the time of the Great Migration . The earliest documented mention dates back to 1144.

The further development was closely connected with the Hildesheim Monastery and the Dompropstei. After changing ownership and denominational relationships during the Reformation century , the church and village had been Catholic since the Thirty Years' War with the Borsumer Kaspel and the other monastery villages.

The first St. George's Church probably already existed around 1300. The current building was built between 1755 and 1765 and contains a triumphal cross dated around 1250 , which originally came from the Augustinian canons of St. Bartholomäus zur Sülte in Hildesheim.

Adlum was and is predominantly agricultural and has a lively club life.
