Goldgrund (nature reserve)

The nature reserve Goldgrund is located in the district of Germersheim in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The approximately 310 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1997 , extends east of the core town of Hagenbach directly on the east-flowing Rhine . State roads 540 and 556 run to the west ; in the southwest the polder Daxlander Au connects .
The area includes natural forest stands typical of the site and extensively used grassland with shrubbery, hedges, individual trees, sedges and reed beds as well as near-natural still and flowing waters.
