The Gorinsee is a natural body of water in the municipality of Wandlitz in the Brandenburg district of Barnim . It belongs to the area of the Schönwalde district of Wandlitz and has an area of 24 hectares.
General
The water surface of the lake is 58.5 meters above sea level . In the Prussian land survey of 1903, this value was 58.7 meters. The depth of the water is around three meters at its deepest point, and has been falling steadily since 1985. Since the lake has no tributaries, the water depth depends on the groundwater and strata water . Due to the closure of the neighboring sewage fields and a lowering of the groundwater as a result of the construction of single and multi-family houses in the Gorinsee settlement since 1990, the lake threatened to dry up. In recent years the water level has risen again.
Gorinsee settlement
Nearby, south of the lake, there is a settlement of the same name with around 270 inhabitants (as of 2008).
