The Gornsdorfer Bach (also Wildbach ) is a right tributary of the Zwönitz in the Saxon Ore Mountains .

course

The stream rises in the northern foothills of the Geyers forest , only about 100 m from the Hormersdorfer Hochmoor nature reserve . Shortly afterwards he steps out of the forest and into the Hormersdorf-Thumer plateau . Like most of the Ore Mountains streams, it mainly flows north, following the slope of the Ore Mountains Pultscholle. It flows through the Waldhufendorf Hormersdorf , whose buildings were built along the stream. When leaving a larger wooded area that especially for the west extending located conservation area Lohwald-Christel reason belongs. Here the brook has cut a notched valley that is more than 100 m deep . The steeper right slope up to the striking, 591 m high Andreasberg is formed by dry, stony forest, the Mühlleite . The flatter left slope is formed by a spruce forest interspersed with larches, beeches, oaks and birches. After about 1 km comes the eponymous Gornsdorf , which also extends along the stream. Here, the Auerbacher Dorfbach, the only larger body of water, flows to it from the right. In the Zwönitztal on the boundary of Meinersdorf , a district of Burkhardtsdorf , it flows from the right as an important tributary into the Zwönitz.
