Attractions
At the beginning of the 20th century, the coal and steel entrepreneur Fritz von Friedlaender-Fuld , who was ennobled in 1906, had two castles built in Groß Gorschütz. They are a good kilometer apart; Together with the landscape park that connects them, they are under monument protection .
The castle from 1912 is a ring-shaped complex with a central gate tower. This is closed by an onion dome, which originally corresponded to the raised mansard roofs of the pavilions at the ends of the building. Like the rest of the facility, they have recently been increased to two floors. Paul Schultze-Naumburg created the design in neo-baroque forms . The lock is in poor condition.
The hunting lodge was designed by the Berlin architect William Müller and built between 1907 and 1908. The middle risalites are each accentuated by a triangular gable and coat of arms cartouches and window garlands - the few decorative elements of the simple building. There is also a balcony facing the entrance, a portico with pillars and sweeping, curved staircases in front of the garden.
