history
The appointment to Shi took place on October 1, 1954 with the merger of the Chō Goshogawara ( 五 所 川 原 町 , -chō ) with 6 Mura ( 栄 村 , 中 川村 , 三好 村 , 長 橋村 , 松 島村 , 飯 詰 村 ) in the Kitatsugaru-gun .
