Gottfried Wilhelm Alfred Rabe von Pappenheim (* 25. November 1874 in Liebenau (Hessen) ; † 18th June 1955 in Kassel ) was District Administrator of the district Kassel and governor of Hesse.

Life

Rabe von Pappenheim studied law at the University of Göttingen , where he was a member of the Corps Saxonia . His professional career began at the Höxter District Office and the Senior Presidium in Poznan. In 1907 he was appointed district administrator of the Kassel district. At the First World War he took part as Rittmeister d. R. part. In 1930 he became governor of Hesse. In 1936 he retired, but was reactivated again as the district administrator of the Kassel district after the end of World War II in 1945/46.

Awards

Gottfried Rabe von Pappenheim was an honorary senator of the University of Marburg and an honorary member of the Corps Saxonia Göttingen.
