Josef Quiver

Josef Köcher (born March 15, 1907 in Bleiswedel , Bohemia ; † April 22, 1997 ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Josef Köcher learned the trade of a businessman in the workers' consumer association Tetschen-Bodenbach. After the annexation of the Sudetenland in 1938, the Social Democrat was imprisoned in Bautzen prison for several months . In the Second World War , Quiver served as a soldier in the Wehrmacht. After the Second World War he came to Northern Hesse as a displaced person from the Sudetenland. The trained businessman first settled in Weimar, and finally lived in Lohfelden.

At the age of 14, Josef Köcher joined the SPD. In 1948 he was elected to the district council for the SPD. From 1951 until the regional reform in Hesse in 1972 he was district administrator of the Kassel district .

From December 1, 1950 to November 30, 1974, Josef Köcher was a member of the Hessian state parliament for 6 terms. From 1967 to 1969 he was deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.

In 1954 and 1959, Köcher was a member of the Federal Assembly .
