Walter Schultz (Gauleiter)

Walter Schultz (born November 27, 1874 in Lautenberg / West Prussia, † August 8, 1953 in Kassel ) was a Gauleiter of the NSDAP .

Schultz was born the son of a farmer. After studying science as a teacher at the University of Marburg, he graduated with the state examination in 1902 and a doctorate in mineralogy. The captain a. D. was a high school professor in Kassel . In 1925 he joined the NSDAP. In 1926 he was appointed Gauleiter in the Gau Hessen-Nassau-Nord and for a short time probably also from Hessen-Nassau-Süd.

Possibly he was Gauleiter of Hessen-Nassau-Nord even before 1926, and from September 22, 1926 of Hessen-Nassau-Nord and Hessen-Nassau-Süd, the latter only temporarily, when Anton Haselmayer officially resigned for health reasons. The official appointment took place on March 1, 1927. But as early as 1928 he resigned as Gauleiter due to excessive work.

In 1929 he became senior teacher. In 1933 Schultz became first district deputy in the district of Kassel and in 1934 district administrator of the district of Kassel-Land. From May 1937 to 1945 he was district administrator of the then Eschwege district .
