Friedrich Bernstein

Christian Ludwig Friedrich Ernst Bernstein (born January 12, 1818 in the Richelsdorfer Hütte , † May 20, 1886 in Kassel ) was a German military and administrative officer.

Life

Friedrich Bernstein studied law at the Philipps University in Marburg . He became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Marburg and in 1838 was one of the founders of the short-lived Corps Rhenania Marburg. After completing his studies, he became a judicial and administrative officer in 1829. From 1842 to 1847 he was a trainee lawyer at the Criminal Senate of the Fulda Higher Court. He was then a garrison auditor in Kassel until 1853. In 1854 he was appointed police director, the highest administrative officer in the Kassel district. He held the office until 1868, with the title of District Administrator and Police Director since the annexation of Kurhesse by Prussia. In 1868 he became the district administrator of the district Frankenberg appointed. In 1875 he moved to the district of Witzenhausen as district administrator , where he remained in office until 1884.
