Gotthard Bonell

Gotthard Bonell (* 1953 in Truden , South Tyrol ) is an artist , graphic designer and singer . Today he lives and works in Bolzano and Truden.

biography

Gotthard Bonell studied at the St. Ulrich art school and at the art academies of Venice and Milan (Brera), and he also attended summer courses at the international summer academy in Salzburg , where he worked as an assistant in 1980 and 1981. His works are in various private and museum collections. Bonell was a member of the South Tyrolean Provincial Cultural Council for 15 years.

  • 2000 CD and graphic project in collaboration with the Italian pianist Antonio Ballista
  • 2002 Together with KS Brigitte Fassbaender and Norman Shetler, GB initiated the “Liedsommer Eppan” and looked after it for many years on behalf of the South Tyrolean Education Center.
  • Freelance worker at Rai Suedtirol where he has already designed over ninety programs (“Der Liederabend”).

Bonell as a singer

Gotthard Bonell is primarily a visual artist. He began his singing studies with Luise Gallmetzer at the Conservatory in Bolzano. He took part in song interpretation courses a. a. with Erik Werba, Ada Zapperi and Norman Shetler and was a member of the Cobochti - Ensemble -Bozen.

  • In 1997 he created an etching cycle for Schubert's Winterreise and a CD recording with Norman Shetler at the piano. Further studies with Othmar Trenner.
  • 2000 Start of collaboration with Antonio Ballista, joint graphic project and recording of a CD.

Further studies with Prof. Othmar Trenner recitals with the pianists Toni von Walther - Eduard Demetz - Peter Paul Kainrath - Antonio Ballista - Norman Shetler - Othmar Trenner and Charles Spencer. On behalf of the South Tyrolean Education Center, Bonell founded the Song Summer Eppan together with Brigitte Fassbaender and Norman Shetler.
